Solstrimman, our kennel prefix means sunbeam as we always felt that our dogs are rays of Sunshine in our lives. We have had dogs from the day we got married but 1977 is the year we got our foundation bitches
.
2007 Swedish Kennel Club rewarded us with the most precious award a dogbreeder in Sweden can get, Hamilton Plaketten. We are very moved and grateful of the " Nobel Prize of the dogworld" which is absolutely the highlight of our lives as dogbreeder.

For some time ago we found our "strawberry place" here in Storön, a little village outside Kalix in the North of Sweden. We live on a small peninsula, surrounded by water. Here we have everyhing at the same place: a summer -cottage, hunting- and training-ground, plenty of chances to all kinds of open-air aktivities and permanent residens. To have the privilege of watching the view over the sea and the wildlife around our home compensates more than well the disadvantages that living at the top of Europa implies.

Storön is an old village beautifully situated at the seaside. The open sea and fishing is still very much part of the daily life. The famous delicacy, the red caviar of Kalix comes from this area.

Kalix is a small community and a central place for the surrounding villages. Most of the people work in industry or puplic servises . The beautiful nature and the archipelago gives the people here special quality of life . Many of them enjoy fishing and hunting. Old skills like baking a special very thin bread , a speciality from this area, is still a living tradition even among many young people .
